The Terra Lemnia project activities are structured upon 6 interlinked strategies:
Research and fieldwork to record and evaluate the current status of the primary sector, biodiversity and other environmental resources, focusing on traditional agro-pastoral practices, the traditional “mandras”, local seed varieties and animal breeds.

Focus on local producers by organising capacity building seminars and workshops, knowledge exchange and field visits with best practice examples from Greece and abroad and fostering of collaboration and networks within and beyond Lemnos.

Demonstrative pilot interventions aiming to
- Enhance traditional, sustainable agro-pastoral practices, working hand in hand with local producers (conserving local seed varieties, enriching pastures and better grazing management etc.)
- Create an integrated plan to deal with the issue of wild rabbits in Lemnos, by implementing pilot actions in selected areas in full cooperation with local authorities.
- Restore the traditional mandra structures, in collaboration with interested owners with the aim of making them once again functional parts of the Lemnian landscape.

Αctivities to boost the financial viability of traditional agro-pastoral practices and to support local producers such as studies that will assess the nutritional value of such local products, support of the certification of local seed varieties and related products, support the creation of a local management and promotion network on these issues, support synergies with the tourism sector of the island, exchange of knowhow and cooperation with global networks etc.

Development and implementation of a model methodology for the management of the agricultural landscape, as well as gradual activation of a network of local stakeholders, in order to promote participative planning and coordinated management of the area, focusing on the unique Lemnian landscape and the practices that shape it.
Proposals to improve the institutional framework towards this direction through cooperation with local actors, making use of relevant policy tools.

Public awareness actions within and beyond Lemnos focusing on the local community with a special focus on young people via schools and Lemnian cultural organisations.
